Job Description: 

Position holds a level of responsibility in organizing and carrying out general Main

Street/Tourism functions. Work includes assisting in creating a master Tourism plan, assisting in creating weekend travel/tourism packages, updating and collecting various forms of data, maintaining open hours for the Visitor Center on Tuesday-Saturday, assisting in planning and creating Main Street events, assisting with carrying out the marketing plans set forth by the Tourism Director/Corsicana Visitor's Bureau, excellent organizational and communication skills in performance of duties. Acts as visitor center greeter and answers/directs calls made to the visitor center.

 

Physical Requirements:
 

  1. Must have good vision to accomplish general office work.

  2. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

  3. Must be able to use hands/fingers for typing, filing, operating computer and distributing information.

  4. Must be able to reach, stoop, bend and lift up to 25-45 lbs.
     

Minimum Requirements:
 

I . Must have above-average skills and willingness to learn new software, including Excel, Word, and Publisher.

  1. Must be able to maintain positive working relationships with City departments and personnel, outside agencies, local businesses/schools, vendors, and the general public.

  2. Must have strong organizational and analytical skills.
     

Other Aspects Of The Job:
 

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Candidate currently holds or is seeking a college degree with emphasis in either/all of the following fields: Marketing, Event Planning, Tourism Management. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative and accurate. Must have the ability to work effectively with others on a daily basis (both internal and external); creating a positive public relations image at all times. Ability to organize and handle multiple job functions and make decisions in accordance with department head. Must be proficient in the use of PC and PC software applications. Ability to operate all office equipment.
